Sherlock Security Systems is a leading provider of advanced fire alarm, CCTV, and security solutions in the New York City area. We specialize in new installations of fire alarm systems and security technologies, ensuring the highest level of safety and compliance for our clients. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technician Foreman to lead our installation projects on large-scale commercial sites.

Position Summary:
As a Senior Technician Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing new installation projects for fire alarm systems, CCTV, intercoms, and access control systems, specifically for large-scale projects. This role is designed for an experienced professional with a strong technical background in fire alarm and security systems installation. You will lead a team of technicians while actively participating in the installation process, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards, in compliance with relevant codes and regulations, and within project schedules and budgets.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the hands-on installation of new fire alarm systems, including smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, horn strobes, and speaker strobes in large commercial and residential environments.
  • Perform electrical wiring, disconnect switches, and ground wiring for new fire alarm and security installations on extensive projects.
  • Actively engage in the installation of CCTV systems, including camera placement, cable runs, and network configurations (Cat5e/Cat6) on large-scale sites.
  • Execute conduit installation and pipe bending as necessary for substantial installations.
  • Conduct system tests and inspections to ensure compliance with NFPA 72 and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with customer representatives and project management teams to manage project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely delivery of installations.
  • Review project drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance before and during installation.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and mentorship to installation teams, ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with project timelines.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all installation work, including reports, work orders, and compliance records.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and adherence to safety protocols during all installation activities.
  • Resolve any issues that arise during installation in collaboration with team members and clients.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience specifically in the installation of fire alarm, CCTV, intercom, and access control systems, with a focus on large-scale projects.
  • Proven experience in leading installation projects and managing teams on-site.
  • Strong hands-on technical skills with experience in installation and troubleshooting.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire alarm products (Radionics, Bosch, Notifier, EST, Mircom) and security systems (Honeywell, Hikvision, Digital Watchdog ).
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 72, NEC, and local building codes relevant to large-scale installations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
  • Excellent mechanical, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
  • FDNY S-97 or S-98 Certificate of Fitness (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience preparing installation reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with advanced fire and security installations, including card access control and burglar alarms.
  • Familiarity with intercom systems (Aiphone, Comelit, Akuvox, Mircom).
  • Working knowledge of low-voltage wiring and installation techniques.
  • Ability to make recommendations for system design and alternative solutions based on project requirements.
