Technician-Forman to lead, supervise and install fire alarm systems, CCTV, Intercom, and access control systems.

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Fire Alarm: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Low voltage: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Preferred)
  • OSHA SST (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Installation of fire alarm equipment, including smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, horn strobe, speaker strobes
  • Installation of disconnect switches, electrical wiring and ground wiring
  • Installation of cameras, cable, and conduit.
  • Run and terminate Cat5e/Cat6 cables
  • Run and mount conduits, pipe bending skills
  • Test, repair, or replace any malfunctioning low voltage cables
  • Full knowledge of fire alarm systems and operation, and fire alarm terminologies
  • Understanding and application of NYC Building codes and NFPA fire alarm codes
  • Familiarity with all local electrical codes, (NEC)
  • Full knowledge of fire alarm products, Radionics, Bocsh, FCI, Notifier, EST, Mircom
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Familiar with troubleshooting ground faults, shorts,open circuits, etc.
  • Ability to make recommendations on alternative solutions to client / office
  • Ability to function in a self-directed environment
  • Effective use of hand tools (meter, toner, etc.)
  • Understanding of basic electronics and electrical theories and principles (Ohm’s Law, AC/DC, etc.)
  • Ability to demonstrate the safe use of ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and related equipment required
  • Knowledge of proper grounding and bonding methods
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment and proper terminology, and an understanding of the dangers of live electricity
  • Acceptable report writing procedures
  • Good listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Must be very reliable and responsible
  • Maintain all company property and supplies, including but not limited to tools, equipment, parts and documentation.

  • Experience in Burglar Alarms
  • Experience in CCTV
  • Ability to use power tools
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • Drivers license
  • Must have experience in Security systems, CCTV, Access Control, Nurse call systems, and low voltage systems
  • DMP, Honeywell, HikVision, DW, Axis
  • Experience with Aiphone, Comelit, Elvox, mircom
  • Ability to lead a team and dedicate work
