What will you do?
The Boiler & Fire Watchperson is responsible for monitoring and maintaining boiler room equipment and conducting plant safety inspections. This role ensures safe operation of boilers, compressors, chillers, and related systems, while also monitoring plant conditions, security systems, and responding to adverse weather and emergency situations.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor boilers, chillers, compressors, and associated boiler room equipment.
- Perform hourly tours to visually check for fire, flooding, and unauthorized entry of the plant.
- Lock and unlock plant entrances as required.
- Monitor plant temperatures through visual inspection of temperature gauges and systems.
- Perform water treatment analysis and add chemicals as required for plant water systems.
- Monitor building automation systems, card access systems, and security cameras.
- Announce adverse weather conditions to plant personnel via the intercom system.
- Assist with maintaining walkways and entrances during inclement weather conditions.
- Assist with general plant cleaning and housekeeping duties.
- Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and assist with operation of fire and emergency response systems.
- Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule, transitioning monthly between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts; flexibility is required to cover other BFW shifts as needed.

- Ability to manipulate 55‑gallon barrels using a barrel cart
- Working knowledge of boiler room equipment operation
- Forklift operation experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Basic computer skills required
