Sprinkler Designer responsible for designing fire sprinkler layouts that meet all applicable code requirements for commercial and industrial facilities.
Responsibilities
Key duties
- Develop code-compliant sprinkler system designs and layouts for fire protection projects.
- Create detailed CAD/BIM drawings supporting coordination and constructability.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and generate associated design documentation.
- Prepare material lists to support procurement and installation.
- Interpret architectural/engineering plans and specifications.
- Apply NFPA and local fire codes to ensure compliance and safety.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and installation teams to ensure accuracy.
- Support estimates, project submittals, and documentation reviews.
- Assist with resolving field issues through design adjustments and guidance.
Job Requirements
Required qualifications
- Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and applicable code requirements.
- Proficiency in CAD/BIM tools for production of design drawings.
- Ability to complete hydraulic calculations accurately.
- Detail-oriented with strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience interpreting plans/specifications and supporting project documentation.
