The Inspection and Testing of Water Based Systems, NICET Certified Technician Level II, will be joining the Optimum Fire & Security Federal Inspection Team.

Job Type: Full-time

Hourly Pay Range: $30-$37

Responsibilities

NICET Certified Fire Sprinkler Systems Inspector/Technician Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and apply applicable Codes and Standards, including IBC, IFC, and NFPA 13, 20, 22, and 25
  • Perform fire sprinkler inspections and fire pump inspections in a multitude of differing environments, structures, and settings
  • Extensive knowledge of fire sprinkler/fire pump systems
  • Extensive knowledge of building reports
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read installation and system manuals
  • Ability to read blueprints and building plans
  • Extensive knowledge of sprinkler and fire codes
  • Ability to use hand and power tools

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Vocational/technical/ school training is highly preferred; on-the-job training may be provided
  • Two years of related experience required
  • Fire years of experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders
  • Physically able to install system hardware
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
  • Comply with all Company, Client, and Federal safety policies
  • Inspect new or existing installations, prepare reports, and make recommendations

NICET Certified Fire Sprinkler Systems Inspector/Technician Requirements:

  • Minimum NICET Certification in Water-Based Fire Protection Systems ITM Level II
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to solve basic math problems
  • Ability to complete site surveys, identify code issues, and find solutions
  • Completion of daily logs
