Novant Health is seeking a Safety Attendant. The Safety Attendant provides one-on-one observation of selected patients for the purpose of identifying behaviors which are potentially hazardous to self or others in accordance with facility policies and procedures; reports needs and concerns to licensed nurse.CSSO Safety Attendants are responsible for providing safe, continuous quality patient care in a variety of settings. The CSSO Safety Attendant is part of a market based, corporate float pool team that is assigned to varying units during their shift to ensure that patient care needs are met within the assigned facility. These SAs possess the skills, competency and qualifications, as well as a requirement to work in all facilities within a defined market (Greater Charlotte (GCM) or Greater Winston Salem (GWSM)). Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience: Previous hospital experience, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: De-Escalation Techniques (within 90 days of employment), required. Life Support Responder (within 90 days of employment), required. Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) Training (within 90 days after completion of De-Escalation Training), required.
  • Additional skills required: some text
    • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing as applicable. Is knowledgeable regarding guidelines for infection control, body substance precautions, patient safety, and body mechanics. Maintains acceptable standards set by those guidelines.
    • Ability to work with all age group patients or act as a companion.
    • Basic computer skills for documentation
