Safety Manager
Job Description
We are currently searching for a Safety Manager to work with our Charlotte Division. Morgan Corp has established itself as an industry leader in providing a safe work environment for its employees and a professional performance for our clients. With each new accomplishment, Morgan Corp raises its EHS performance standards, and we are looking for a candidate with a similar mindset geared toward continuous improvement.
Ideally the right person will have experience training employees and managing safety in the commercial, industrial site development and/or drilling and blasting industry. The right candidate will have verifiable site preparation/heavy civil construction expertise and will be able to effectively communicate with members of our Operations Team.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Represent Morgan Corp. as the Senior Safety Representative on project sites, including in meetings with the Client.
- Participate in Client Safety Committee functions as required.
- Coordinate schedule with Safety Coordinators and Safety Technicians a to ensure proper safety coverage is available anytime work is being performed on site.
- Conduct orientation for sub-contracted employees and monitor them for adherence to OSHA, Company, and site safety expectations.
- Assist Site Supervision in ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with OSHA, Client, and Company safety standards.
- Attend and participate in daily Job Safety Analysis meetings, present weekly toolbox safety talks, conduct safety stand downs, and provide training as required on site.
- Conduct site safety audits and assign corrective actions to appropriate Supervisors.
- Assist Project Supervision with permits for trenching and excavation, hot work, and confined space entry.
- Conduct inspections of safety equipment to include fire extinguishers, PFAs, rigging, and ladders.
- Maintain an adequate supply of PPE on the project site.
- Be present and engaged in team planning and work execution.
- Conduct behavioral based safety observations and provide coaching to ensure employee success.
- Drive behavioral based safety efforts at the site level.
- Audit training needs for operators and communicate needs to the Training Department.
- Provide first-aid care when needed and manage injury cases focused on caring for the employee.
- Issue reports of accidents, incidents, and near misses in a timely manner.
- Provide technical assistance to Project Managers in completion of Root Cause Analyses.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 5+ years of construction safety experience with at least two years being in heavy civil construction/site preparation/underground utilities.
- Knowledgeable about equipment operation and trade work.
- CSP, CHST, or other EHS certifications appreciated but not required.
- Bi-lingual English-Spanish highly desired
