Responsibilities
Job Summary
Summary<br>Responsible for overseeing safety and security operations, ensuring a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Leads the development and implementation of safety protocols, security measures, and emergency response plans to protect the hospital's assets and promote a safe healthcare environment.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>No<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Develops and implements security policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all hospital personnel, patients, and visitors. <br>-Manages the day-to-day operations of the hospital's security staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling. <br>-Monitors and enforces compliance with safety regulations, ensuring the hospital meets all local, state, and federal safety requirements. <br>-Coordinates emergency response and preparedness plans, conducting drills to ensure staff readiness for various scenarios. <br>-Collaborates with hospital leadership to assess security risks and recommend improvements to safeguard the hospital’s physical and operational assets. <br>-Investigates and reports on security incidents, including theft, assault, and unauthorized access, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are taken. <br>-Maintains and updates security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems. <br>-Liaises with local law enforcement and emergency services as necessary to address security concerns and emergencies. <br>-Oversees the development of security awareness programs for staff and visitors, promoting a culture of safety. <br>

EducationBachelor's Degree Criminal Justice required or Bachelor's Degree Security required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study requiredCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?NoLicenses and CredentialsExperienceExperience in safety and security management 5-7 years required and Experience in a leadership role within a healthcare setting 3-5 years requiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities- Knowledge of safety and security protocols, risk management strategies, and emergency response planning. - Strong leadership and team management abilities. - Excellent problem-solving skills for incident response and threat management. - In-depth knowledge of security technology and systems (CCTV, access control, etc.). - Effective communication skills for coordinating with hospital leadership and external agencies. - Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle emergency situations efficiently.
