The Mechanical Engineer candidate will provide plumbing and fire protection engineering services. The Mechanical Engineer shall be a technically skilled and experienced engineer with excellent communication, coordination, project management and leadership skills. The Project Engineer is expected to proactively coordinate, communicate, solve problems across disciplines, and exhibit the ability to balance the client relationship with an understanding of the project’s financial goals.

JOB CLASSIFICATION AND SCHEDULED WORK HOURS:
Full Time Salaried Exempt Employee.
Standard workweek is Monday-Friday minimum 8 work hours/day (40 hours/week) within the firm’s hours of operation of 8:00a.m.-7:00p.m.
You may be required to work extra hours to meet client’s demands and project delivery target dates. Travel to client meetings and worksites are required. Legacy Engineers is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Work Location: Hybrid remote in New York, NY 10018
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist lead designer and the plumbing engineering design on projects across all market sectors, including educational, healthcare, corporate workplaces, cultural institutions and on base building/infrastructure upgrades.
· Assist in establishing design criteria from the project proposal; perform detailed field surveys documenting existing conditions; performing calculations and preparation of basis of design documents.
· Assemble a complete set of contract documents for their trade including the layout for plumbing and fire protection equipment and rooms, piping distribution systems, equipment selection, and specification writing.
· Review shop drawings, respond to contractor RFI’s and change orders, perform site visits and document field observation reports and punch-lists with limited supervision to verify that designs are being implemented accurately.
· Assists in establishing an efficient project schedule for his/her project team that ensures appropriate use of resources while adhering to deadlines.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum 0-3 years of experience.
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited mechanical engineering program.
· Having passed the Fundamental of Engineering exam a plus.
· Possess strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasive and interpersonal skills.
· Experience in all design calculations and software tools (e.g., Revit and AutoCAD) applicable to their discipline.
· Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
· Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software is a plus.
