In this role, you will help customers use energy more productively and support the precision and resilience required in critical environments through dependable fire suppression service at customer sites.

Role Overview

As a Suppression Technician, you will perform service, repairs, inspections, troubleshooting, and installation work on portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, suppression gas systems, and related building system products. You will work with clean agent systems, dry chemical systems, and special hazards, manage daily service activity, and deliver professional support to customers across a range of sites, which may include government work.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform service and repairs on portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems at customer sites.
  • Service, troubleshoot, and install equipment from multiple manufacturers, including Simplex and ANSUL.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Manage daily service calls, customer activity, and program system products.
  • Work with clean agent systems, dry chemical systems, and special hazards.
  • Perform inspections of suppression gas systems based on contract requirements.
  • Inspect customer systems and use smartphone-based tools and field equipment to complete assigned work.
  • Assist customers with questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service support.

  • Own each service visit with accountability, safety, and integrity, from arrival at the site through completion of work and documentation.
  • Stay close to the work and the customer by responding promptly, communicating clearly, and removing obstacles that affect service or system performance.
  • Use disciplined troubleshooting and follow-through to inspect, diagnose, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Improve every day through candid communication and practical problem-solving, learning from each call and applying those lessons on the next job.
  • Work as one team with dispatch, field peers, and customers to coordinate service activity, emergency response, and contract needs.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding customer-facing service and problem-solving skills.
  • PC skills including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Hands-on experience servicing, troubleshooting, or installing fire suppression systems, such as portable extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, suppression gas systems, clean agent systems, dry chemical systems, or special hazards preferred and willing to train.

Nice to Have

  • Any manufacturer certifications, such as ANSUL or Kiddie PyroChem.
  • Valid US driver's license.
