Location: Manhattan - New York
Client: Full-Service Engineering Firm
Salary: $80,000 - $140,000
Overview:
We are currently working with a highly reputable full-service engineering firm specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm, Lighting, Commissioning, and Sustainability services. Our client is looking to add an experienced Electrical and Fire Alarm Engineer/Designer to their team to support a wide range of projects across sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and industrial.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and design electrical and fire alarm systems for projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire detection, and life safety systems.
- Create and prepare detailed drawings and schematics using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard software.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and MEP teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical and fire alarm systems.
- Ensure all designs meet industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA) and comply with local building codes.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate existing systems and provide design solutions for both new construction and renovation projects.
- Participate in project coordination meetings and offer technical guidance from the design phase through to project completion.
- Review contractor submittals and provide support during the construction phase.
- Stay up to date with advancements in electrical and fire alarm technology, contributing to the firm's goal of creating efficient and innovative designs.

Job Requirements
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of experience working with MEP engineering firms, specifically in electrical and fire alarm systems.
- Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant software.
- Thorough knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and other relevant codes and standards.
- Strong communication skills and experience working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
- PE License (preferred) or working towards licensure.
- Experience in sustainable design and LEED certification is a bonus.
