Position Summary:
The Fire Protection Project Manager will oversee all phases of assigned fire protection projects, from contract award to close-out. This role is responsible for managing field crews, budgets, and schedules while ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and local codes. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, proven leadership ability, and experience working in fast-paced construction environments.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and manage fire protection projects from start to finish.
  • Direct and coordinate field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure safe and efficient installations.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and code compliance (NFPA 13, NFPA 25, and local fire/building codes).
  • Monitor budgets, labor hours, and material costs to maintain project profitability.
  • Attend job site meetings and coordinate with general contractors, owners, and inspectors.
  • Prepare and process RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality standards.
  • Ensure inspections, testing, and punch-list items are completed on schedule.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in fire protection contracting, with project management responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and NFPA standards.
  • NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout (preferred).
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
