Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Integrated Fire & Security Solutions is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm and Security Service Technician to join our team in Fort Myers, FL. This role focuses on servicing, troubleshooting, and supporting a variety of low‑voltage systems, with emphasis on fire alarm, access control, and video surveillance equipment. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, customer‑focused, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced field environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform service, repair, and troubleshooting on fire alarm, access control, security, and video surveillance systems.
  • Assist with minor installation tasks as needed, including conduit, wiring, and device installation.
  • Coordinate with customers onsite to communicate service needs, timelines, and system status.
  • Program, test, and verify system functionality across platforms such as Notifier, FireLite, Silent Knight, Lenel, DSX, Milestone, Salient, and DMP.
  • Provide basic end‑user training following service or repair.
  • Work with the Service Coordinator and Service Manager to schedule service calls and confirm availability of required materials and equipment.
  • Complete accurate service reports and documentation within SME (IFSS’s service management software).
  • Conduct quality‑control reviews of completed work to ensure proper operation and compliance with applicable codes.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry standards, NFPA and NEC requirements, and emerging technologies through ongoing training and seminars.

Job Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience servicing low‑voltage systems or equivalent technical experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Working knowledge of NEC and NFPA codes related to fire alarm and security systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot devices, panels, and system components across multiple low‑voltage platforms.
  • Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with service‑related software, diagnostic tools, and general technology.
  • Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver’s license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification preferred but not required.
  • Manufacturer‑specific training on IFSS core systems.
  • Technical school coursework in electronics, fire alarm technology, or low‑voltage systems.
