Responsibilities

Job SummaryPiper Fire Protection’s Clearwater, FL branch is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Project Manager. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of fire sprinkler projects from initiation through completion.The Project Manager will work closely with sales, design, and operations teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards. Key responsibilities include defining project stages, monitoring progress, and addressing any critical issues that could impact successful and timely completion. This position reports directly to the Fire Sprinkler Operations Manager.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of construction procedures, material requirements, specifications, and project management principles.
  • Collaborate with the sales team regularly to support the bidding process and identify potential project issues.
  • Develop accurate project schedules and define project-specific requirements; communicate findings to the Operations Team for fitter staffing needs.
  • Attend regular WIP (Work in Progress) meetings, prepared with project updates and action items as required.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal teams on assigned projects, ensuring regular documented customer communications.
  • Review contracts for compliance with safety standards, operational needs, and invoicing requirements.
  • Create and track purchase orders (POs) for assigned projects.
  • Monitor projects in accordance with established guidelines to ensure efficient and timely completion.
  • Maintain up-to-date project information within operational systems.
  • Communicate project-specific requirements clearly to team members.
  • Identify change orders and process them within 24 hours of notification.
  • Complete project invoicing as required.
  • Contact customers promptly upon booking to confirm project details, requirements, and provide points of contact.
  • Wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required by job duties.

Job Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the fire protection industry, including at least 2 years as a Project Manager specializing in fire sprinkler projects/service.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships across multiple levels of employees and management.
  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver’s license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET Certification in Fire Sprinkler Preferred.
