About The OpportunityElite Fire Services is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Fire Extinguisher & Kitchen Fire Suppression Technician to join our growing team out of our Elite Fire Services office location in Columbus, OH. This role is responsible for inspecting, servicing, installing, and maintaining commercial kitchen fire suppression systems and portable fire extinguishers in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations.The ideal candidate will have experience in fire protection services or a mechanical/technical background and be comfortable working in commercial kitchens, restaurants, and other business environments.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, service, and maintain commercial kitchen fire suppression systems.
- Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and recharging of portable fire extinguishers.
- Install new fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers when required.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA codes and local fire regulations.
- Maintain accurate service reports and inspection documentation.
- Diagnose and repair system deficiencies.
- Communicate with customers regarding system condition, repairs, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain service vehicle, tools, and equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Experience with kitchen fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers preferred (Ansul, Pyro-Chem, etc.).
- Knowledge of NFPA 10 and NFPA 17A standards is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Certifications
- Ohio State Kitchen Suppression System and Extinguisher Certifications (preferred but not required)
- OSHA safety training (preferred but not required)
