Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Sprinkler Inspector is responsible for performing inspections, testing, and documentation of fire sprinkler systems and related fire protection equipment in accordance with NFPA standards, local codes, and company procedures.
This role works closely with customers, service personnel, and operations teams to ensure systems are properly inspected, deficiencies are identified, and reports are completed accurately and professionally.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections and testing of fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes
- Inspect wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and related fire protection systems
- Identify system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
- Complete inspection reports, documentation, and required paperwork accurately and timely
- Communicate inspection findings clearly with customers and internal teams
- Maintain inspection schedules and assist with coordinating follow-up service needs
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and customer site requirements
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in proper working condition
- Support service and repair activities as needed
- Provide professional customer service while representing the company at customer sites
Job Requirements
- Preferred Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience inspecting fire sprinkler systems preferred
- Experience in commercial and/or industrial fire protection environments preferred
- Experience with NFPA 25 inspection requirements preferred
- Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and related inspection procedures
- Familiarity with NFPA standards and local fire codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer and mobile device proficiency for reporting and documentation
- NICET Certification in Water-Based Systems preferred
- Texas Fire Sprinkler Inspector License preferred or ability to obtain
