The Safety Specialist ensures that all employee on-the-job activities are carried out in a safe, accident-free environment in coordination with all corporate, local, state and OSHA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

To equip employees with knowledge to help them identify unsafe methods and procedures. The Safety Specialist will assist with establishing safety standards relating to company assets. Essential Job Functions Promote company-wide safety awareness. Maintain a current understanding of all FCC and OSHA laws and regulations and implement proper policies, procedures, training, tracking and auditing to ensure compliance. Inspects working conditions to ensure all products and activities are compliant with safety guidelines. Coordinate, implement, track and audit a driver safety program for all company personnel that drive company provided vehicles. Conduct periodic safety audits of all operations, facilities, equipment and personnel at job sites and other company offices. Ensure that all equipment, machinery, methods and procedures meet appropriate safety and sanitary standards and regulations. Make safety recommendations regarding the modification, improvement, or removal of any company equipment, facilities or machinery that might be deemed hazardous to employees. Assist with the investigation of reported accidents and injuries. Recommend preventive measures to ensure accidents don't reoccur. Keep accurate records of all on-the-job accidents. Assist with developing safety, awareness, and training plans for all facilities. Develop and conduct other training as required.

Job Requirements

Education/Certifications Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Safety, Engineering, or equivalent experience Experience/Minimum Requirements Five (5) years of work experience in a related field Other Skills/Abilities Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships Knowledge of safety procedures and practices Knowledge of radio transmitters, receivers, antennas, electronic theory, fiber optic theory Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations Knowledge of FCC Rules & Regulations Knowledge of FAA Rules & Regulations related to Telecommunications Knowledge of Radio Interference Understanding of how to read blueprints and other construction plans preferred Personal computer skills Strong communication skills required to represent company Organizational Relationship
