Responsibilities
Responsibilities Include:
- Perform system inspections, service call, and programming, and on - call for emergency service duties as experience permits.
- Read and interpret prints, diagrams, schematics, specifications, system programs, and operational manuals in order to understand the requirements to properly service, inspect, or install equipment.
- Complete reports on time, including service paperwork, inventory log, time card and weekly expense reports.
- Complete all job assignments on time and work in a manner that will exceed customer expectation. A valid driver’s license with good driving record is required.Read blueprints and schematics •
Identify components’ functionality
- Install components and prewire on fire alarm panels, ensure correct field and component wiring, and identify proper voltage output on all system components •
Bootstrap the fire alarm panels
- Troubleshoot field devices and circuits
- Conduct FDNY pre-test
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed and materials used
- Generate system status reports upon completion of troubleshooting work
- Maintain positive client relations through professional interactions with clients
- Knowledge of computers and software application • Knowledge of EST fire alarm systems, operation, and functionality
- Ability to read and interpret fire alarm blueprints and schematics, sequence of operation
- Understanding and application of NYC Building codes and NFPA fire alarm codes
- Understanding of electronics theories and principles (Ohm’s Law, AC/DC, etc.)
- Proficiency in report-writing procedures
- Basic project management skills

Minimum requirements:
• 2 years of fire alarm experience
