Job Summary:
The Director of Safety and Risk leads food and supply chain safety strategies across the Compass US enterprise. This leader ensures that products, processes and frameworks are in compliance with regulations, specifications, contract requirements and industry leading quality system standards. Will play a key role in establishing the strategic direction for the division. Having a deep understanding of Quality processes, tools and best practices, this leader will know how to scale and apply in practice.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:* Responsible for the planning, direction and coordination of all Food Safety functions including Supply Chain Quality, Product Quality Assurance, Warehouse/Distribution and Continual Improvement across the Compass US business* Track record of effective collaboration with product development, commercialization, manufacturing, procurement and distribution functions* Ensure integrity by providing strategic leadership in establishing a common quality vision, culture, structure, management systems and processes* Participate in developing annual objectives and business plans and share responsibility for the general management and leadership of the business.* Develop, build and lead a high performance quality organization that is aligned with the objectives and operating structure of highly matrixed organization. Manage all related talent selection, training, development, succession planning and performance management* Background, training, and experience in regulatory compliance* Developing SOP's, manufacturing standards, protocols, and procedures for quality assurance* Analytical acumen and ability to effectively perform root cause analysis* Inspirational Leader that has built and lead teams in a direct and cross-functional environment* Development of vision, strategy and aligned resources to achieve goals and objectives* Demonstrated development and implementation of innovative quality systems / programs
Job Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:* Four year degree in a related, technical field* Minimum of 15 years of QA / QC experience in food manufacturing and/or food retail* Willingness to travel, up to 50% on average* Expertise in Food Safety Systems and Requirements* Managed QA audit processes* Background, training, and experience in regulatory compliance* Experience in developing SOP's, manufacturing standards, protocols, and procedures for quality assurance* Analytical acumen and ability to effectively perform root cause analysis* Inspirational Leader that has built and lead teams in a direct and cross-functional environment* Has developed vision, strategy and aligned resources to achieve goals and objectives* Demonstrated development and implementation of innovative quality systems / programs
