Safety Engineer - NYC MTA/Transit Experience

Responsibilities
- Manage all safety matter for project site
- Shall be familiar with work being performed and familiar with the Safety Plan/Program
- Perform and document daily safety inspections of the Work Site
- Conduct weekly Safety Meetings “Tool-box talks”
- Conduct accident and incident investigations
- Willingness to work nights and weekends 1st, 2nd or 3rd shifts
Job Requirements
- 3-5 years MTA, LIRR, NYC Transit or Amtrak construction safety or construction safety related experience
- OSHA 30 hour Construction Safety and Health completed within the past 5 years.
- SuSuccessful completion of one (1) or more of the following:
1) An ABIH Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or ASSE Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or
2) A BCSP Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), or
3) Certification as a Site Safety Manager by the New York City Department of Buildings, or
4) OSHA #500 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry, or
5) OSHA #510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry
- 40 hr. NYC DOB Site Safety Manager Course
- 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training
- NYS DOL Asbestos Inspectors License
- C-3 Supervisor Training for De-leading
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with coworkers, contractors and regulatory agencies
- Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced demanding environment
