Assist Lead Installers and/or Foreman or Field Supervisors with installation and service of fire detection and alarm systems, security and access control systems, and other life safety systems in new and existing buildings in all types of construction, using conduit, hangers, wires, alarm devices, and panels.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist with installation of components that make up the low voltage systems such as smoke detectors, pull stations, video cameras, door contacts, etc.
  • Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors, etc.
  • Feed or pull cables through access holes, roof spaces, wall cavities, conduit, j-hooks, bridle rings, etc.
  • Check wiring, install raceway, equipment and special boxes, and assist with final connections and testing.
  • Mount and fasten control panels; adjust the sensitivity of devices or set addresses of devices.
  • Test and repair circuits and sensors by following wiring and system specifications.
  • Test batteries, keypad and annunciator programming, notification appliances, and security features in order to ensure proper functioning.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships between co-workers, customers, and suppliers.

Job Requirements

Additional Requirements

Pre-employment drug screen; overtime may be required.

Education And/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1-2 years of construction related experience preferred. Basic installation experience or education/training with alarm or security systems or other electrical systems.

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills.
