Responsibilities

What does a Fire Sprinkler Apprentice with Century Fire Protection do?

  • Work with a skilled Foreman to learn how to install fire sprinkler systems for industrial, commercial, and residential applications to protect and save lives
  • Be part of a team of hardworking individuals who are passionate about fire protection and delivering the highest level of service
  • Take pride when your crew completes a project
  • Do the right thing and get the job done

ole on the Team (Job Responsibilities):

  • The basic function of the Sprinkler Helper will be to work with and learn from the Sprinkler Fitter/Foreman on the installation of fire sprinkler systems.
  • You will be trained in quality standards and working within the various codes and standards associated with fire sprinkler systems Interact with customers on a daily basis.
  • Assist Fitter/Foreman on sprinkler install jobs, traveling to job sites as required by the specific assignment.
  • Lay out and connect pipes using snap lock or wrench to tighten collar clamp.
  • Attach revolving sprinkler heads to vertical pipes at designated points along pipeline.
  • Communicate with foreman and/or superintendent any safety hazards and discrepancies found on job site.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Follow Safety rules and requirements.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • No prior fire protection experience required, just a demonstrated ability and desire to learn and help Good mechanical aptitude and works well with hands
  • Willing to commute/travel to jobsites as needed
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Positive attitude and desire to learn and strive for success  
  • Ability to perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as working within ducts, crawl spaces, climbing a ladder, outside in the heat or cold, on lift equipment, or dirty environments
  • Ability to transport equipment and tools weighing up to 40 lbs
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
