This position leads the Fire Prevention Management Program, improving fire and life safety through planning, assessment, and compliance. Responsibilities include coordinating fire drills, ensuring fire protection systems are operational, and conducting risk assessments for renovations and new construction. The role also provides training, completes incident reports, participates in regulatory inspections, and recommends corrective and budgetary actions.

Schedule: Monday through Friday working 7AM to 330PM. Three years of experience maintaining fire/life safety equipment and programs is a must.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARYThis position directs the Fire Prevention Management Program. Identifies opportunities for improvements, then defines and implements change.CORE FUNCTIONS1. Plans, conducts or assists with all fire drills. Documents drill results and required follow-up actions, reporting all findings to appropriate managers and internal committees. Ensures that all fire protection systems are in working condition and tested according to assigned schedules.2. Conducts fire and life safety risk assessments for any remodel, renovation or new construction. Prepares budget recommendations for manager regarding repair, replacement, upgrades and service.3. Participates in review fire management plan for assigned areas.4. May participate in fire safety education during new employee orientation. Delivers training necessary as follow-up to fire drill deficiencies or for continuing education.5. Completes incident reports regarding fire safety and reports to proper authorities (internal or external). Notifies appropriate manager/supervisor regarding life safety systems operational conditions.6. Participates in all regulatory building inspections related to life safety and fire prevention. Provides budget recommendations to correct regulatory deficiencies.7. Performs a variety of maintenance duties as assigned.8. Responsible for development, implementation and monitoring of Fire Prevention Management Plan. Internal customers include all staff, patients and family and any campus visitors. External customers include regulatory officials and vendors.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

Three years of experience maintaining fire/life safety equipment and programs. Must possess a working knowledge of fire, life safety and building codes, regulatory agencies and requirements. Basic knowledge of general maintenance functions. Basic knowledge of computers, including standard office software programs. Effective written and verbal communication skills and basic mathematical skills. Must be able to read, understand and work from blueprints. Must posses a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prefer experience as either carpenter, plumber, electrician or HVAC mechanic.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
