Arcadis is seeking a Junior Fire Protection Engineer to support our Design and Engineering team throughout the USA on a number of exciting projects.

Role description:

As a Junior Fire Protection Engineer, you will participate within the fire protection discipline team of multiple concurrent projects through pursuits, proposal, design, and construction phases. You will be responsible for advancing design efforts and making design decisions.  You may also support proposal and business development efforts, working with project teams, other senior and junior engineers, project managers, and clients on various projects involving commercial, industrial, and municipal / government projects. This role is home based , however you need to live within commutable distance to an Airport so as to attend client meetings in various locations apart from your own State.

The salary range for this position is $70,800 - $122,130. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.

Responsibilities

Role accountabilities:

  • Ability to understand required scope of fire alarm, smoke control, fire suppression, and other related design with ability to interpret code analysis, calculations, and other relevant decisions based on direction by senior engineers.
  • Participate on design teams to develop construction-ready drawing packages with inter-discipline coordination.  
  • Design for available capacity, redundancy, reliability, efficiency, and safety, as well as constructability and cost.  Inter-discipline knowledge of facility systems.
  • Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys, data collection for system studies, system audits and collaboration with clients’ team members.
  • Ability to understand intent of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards such as NFPA.
  • Knowledge of and ability to learn design and modeling software (AutoCAD, Revit, hydraulic calculation software).
  • Work with Engineering team to develop sealed drawings and specifications.  

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

Education - BS in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent

Minimum years of experience - 2 or more years of relevant experience in Fire Protection Engineering

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Professional license (e.g., EIT/PE or GIT/PG)
  • Lean design and construction experience.
  • LEED Accredited Professional.
