Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support our Design and Engineering team throughout the USA on a number of exciting projects.
As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will participate within the fire protection discipline team of multiple concurrent projects through pursuits, proposal, design, and construction phases. You will be responsible for advancing design efforts and making design decisions. You may also support proposal and business development efforts, working with project teams, other senior and junior engineers, project managers, and clients on various projects involving commercial, industrial and municipal / government projects. This role is home based , however you need to live within commutable distance to an Airport so as to attend client meetings in various locations apart from your own State.

The salary range for this position is $84,400 - $142,140. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location
Responsibilities
Role accountabilities:
- Have project level experience in fire alarm, smoke control, fire suppression, and other related design with ability to independently perform code analysis, calculations, and other relevant decisions based on direction by senior engineers and professional experience.
- Self-motivated and team-oriented with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Lead design teams to develop construction-ready drawing packages with inter-discipline coordination.
- Design for available capacity, redundancy, reliability, efficiency, and safety, as well as constructability and cost.
- Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys, data collection for system studies, system audits and collaboration with clients’ team members.
- Maintain knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards such as NFPA, as well as international standards.
- Fluency in design and modeling software (AutoCAD, Revit, hydraulic calculation software).
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education - BS in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent
- Minimum years of experience - 5 or more years of relevant experience in Fire Protection Engineering
- Professional license (e.g., EIT/PE or GIT/PG)
- NICET accreditation preferred
- Lean design and construction experience.
- LEED Accredited Professional.
