AECOM'snetwork of talented professionals is creating a Capability Center that will support the planning, design and construction oversight of a multitude of facility types and is looking for a candidate with a versatile experience to be the Plumbing and Fire Protection Senior Manager of the Plumbing and Fire Protection group in NYC. The appropriately qualified candidate will be responsible for technical direction of the Plumbing and Fire Protection engineering discipline and successful completion of assigned engineering projects. Providing work assignments to discipline project teams and reviewing performance to ensure efficient, cost effective design solutions. Candidate will serve as technical advisor, provide senior level input and evaluation on projects. Demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems. Additionally, this position is expected to provide Engineering leadership via determining technical and professional staffing needs; participation in attracting talent and new hires to the group, training, managing and motivating personnel. Establishing and maintaining quality and accuracy standards. Working cooperatively with other managers and employees to achieve company's mission. This candidate will also have presentation responsibilities and the position requires client facing capabilities as well as proposal writing responsibilities. The position provides the opportunity to lead the development of a successful Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineering practice for the New York Metro area
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments Generally, requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering. Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits Manages group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit At AECOM, we're delivering a better world. Job Requirements
Our expertise and global reach enable us to deliver high-quality solutions for our clients that pave the way for long-lasting benefits to society Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in engineering 8 plus year's relevant experience in design of complex facilities required PE license Preferred Qualifications 15 plus years of experience leading project teams in the design of complex facilities Compressed air design experience, high pressure hydraulic lines design Life Science and Healthcare facility design experience Transit station design experience DEP facilities experience.
