REMOTE Plumbing Fire Protection Engineer
Job Description
Under the supervision of the Design Standards Unit Manager and the Assistant Manager, the selected candidate will be tasked with reviewing fire protection, fire alarm, and plumbing design documents for tenant projects and design audits. You will ensure that these are in compliance with applicable building codes and technical standards. Responsibilities include downloading electronic submissions, previewing construction documents, hydraulic calculations, specifications, and reports for completeness, and coordinating review comments from other technical disciplines. Additionally, you will prepare memoranda for transmitting comments, attend meetings to discuss review comments and resolve issues, assign technical disciplines for code review, and communicate with facilities to process projects. You will also handle the layout of plumbing and fire protection systems, as well as equipment layout and sizing.

Job Requirements
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in fire protection and plumbing systems design
- Experience in designing Plumbing & Fire Protection systems across various project types
- Knowledge of construction codes and reference standards in New York City, New York State, and State of New Jersey
- International Mechanical Code, Plumbing Code and Fire Code
- ASME B31.1 Power Piping
- ASME B31.9 Building Services Piping Designs
- NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems
- E.I.T or F.E certification (will not be considered without)
