We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a strong background in the design of fire protection systems, hydraulic calculations, and relevant industry experience. Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and suppression systems.
- Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure the adequacy and efficiency of fire protection systems.
- Conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of fire protection systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Review and approve design documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fire protection systems into overall building designs.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing fire protection systems and recommend improvements or upgrades.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, clients, and contractors.
- Stay updated on industry trends, codes, standards, and best practices in fire protection engineering.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and schedules.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and staff.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in fire protection engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Fire Protection Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in fire protection engineering, with a focus on the design and analysis of fire protection systems.
- Proficiency in hydraulic calculations and software tools used in fire protection design.
- Strong understanding of NFPA codes, standards, and local building codes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
