Who is Confluent?

Confluent Medical Technologies applies materials science to MedTech innovation. Confluent specializes in the expert design, development, and large-scale manufacturing of interventional catheter-based devices and implants. Our key capabilities include Nitinol components and tubing, balloon and complex catheters, high-precision polymer tubing, and implantable textiles. We operate in 8 state-of-the-art facilities across the United States and Costa Rica and currently employ over 2,000 employees. Confluent has earned the confidence of leaders in the medical device community through a proven track record of innovation, engineering, and manufacturing.

Corporate History

In 1991 Nitinol Device and Components was founded

In 2008 NDC spun off from J&J to become NDC again

In 2015 NDC acquires Interface Catheters expanding their capabilities to include balloons and extrusions

In 2017 Confluent acquires ETE Medical and their operating subsidiaries, BMS and MPC. This adds biomedical textiles to Confluents growing capabilities

In 2019 Confluent acquires Tube Hollows International creating vertical integration with their Nitinol supply chain

In 2021 Confluent opens their new Polymer Tubing center of excellence in Chattanooga, TN. This added filmcast tubing capabilities

In 2022 Confluent opened their 8th location in Hyderabad, India to increase their Nitinol Wire capabilities

In 1999 NDC was acquired by Johnson & Johnson

In 2010 NDC launched their Costa Rica operations for large scale Nitinol device manufacturing

In 2016 NDC changed their name and Confluent Medical Technologies was officially founded

In 2018 Confluent acquired Corpus Medical expanding their capabilities to include advanced catheter design and development

In 2020 Confluent opens their new Catheter center of excellence in Austin, TX with a focus on R&D and prototyping

In January 2022 TPG Capital, the private equity platform of alternative asset management firm TPG, purchased Confluent Medical
