Barclays Center opened on September 28, 2012, as part of the Pacific Park development in Brooklyn, New York, designed by SHoP Architects and AECOM with a modern, iconic facade reflecting Brooklyn’s industrial heritage and contemporary style. The arena was developed by Forest City Ratner Companies and is owned by the Brooklyn Arena Local Development Corporation, leased and operated by BSE Global, chaired by Joseph Tsai. Its first event was a Jay-Z concert, marking the arena’s cultural significance from the start.
